Things to do in Hoveton & Wroxham

Guided Railway Walk: Buxton to North Walsham

Date: Sunday 15 April 2018
Distance: About 6 miles

Walk leader: Eileen Oliver
Start time: Catch the 10.36 train from Norwich to Hoveton and Wroxham and change there to the Bure Valley Railway
Details: A Bittern Line walk where we will take the 11.10 Bure Valley Railway train from Wroxham to Buxton. From there, we will follow paths and lanes through Oxnead and Tuttington to join the Weavers Way to North Walsham.
Note: Please buy a return ticket on the Bittern line to North Walsham, and a single ticket from Wroxham to Buxton on the Bure Valley Railway (approx. £6.50)

This guided walk is free to train ticket holders. Please remember to wear suitable shoes or boots and bring a packed lunch and drink with you, as not all walks pass a pub or café.

The train time provided is for travellers from Norwich; please check train times if you are coming from elsewhere. We aim to arrive back in Norwich by 17.00 at the latest.

When you buy your rail ticket, please bear in mind that not all walks start and finish at the same station.

Dogs are welcome and there is no charge for them on the train. Please keep your dog on a lead at all times as walks sometimes pass through fields with livestock and nature reserves.

The guided railway walks are led by Mike Bugden, Eileen Oliver and Trevor Garrod. Between them, they have been guiding walks for more than a decade. New walk leaders and route suggestions are always welcome.
