The RNLI Henry Blogg Museum was founded to commemorate a local legend who became a national hero
The family-friendly Henry Blogg Museum celebrates the life of the most decorated lifeboatman in RNLI history and tells the history of saving lives at sea in Cromer. Coxswain Henry Blogg served on the lifeboat for 53 years, carried out 387 rescues and helped to save 873 lives.
The lifeboat that Henry Blogg served on, H.F. Bailey, is on display in the museum. On display as well are model lifeboats, photographs, paintings and Henry Blogg’s impressive collection of medals. Many hands-on activities are run at the museum. The museum is a ten-minute walk away from Cromer station.
