A two-mile walk from the Salhouse village leads to Salhouse Broad, where there are over forty acres of beautiful natural surroundings. Salhouse Broad is located on the River Bure between Wroxham and Horning. It is approximately 45 minutes away on foot through the village from the station. Salhouse Broad a great place to cycle or hire a kayak or canoe, explore nature trails or go camping.
The 40-acre Broad is open to the public all year round and people visit to enjoy its beautiful landscape and relaxed atmosphere. Several guided walks held here throughout the year include a ferry ride from Salhouse Broad moorings up the river to Hoveton Great Broad Nature Trail.
